A day in the life

Hi friends! I thought about what I’d want to share in the first post… and after some thought (okay, not a ton of thought, but a little thought), I figured I’d just share a typical day :)

Today is a semi-typical day… the kids are home on winter break still, and my husband is working outside the home (that’s very atypical). I have a few virtual sessions today, but otherwise I’m with the kiddos and cats. Templeton hasn’t been feeling well, which is an ongoing battle with that cat. So I’ve already cleaned up vomit and poop. But he did eat a little today, so that’s a win! He’s honestly the most precious, loving cat, but he has a sensitive gut and is an emotional mess… so it’s a struggle some days. He’s like all of us, really.

My day started a little later than usual because the boys aren’t in school. I woke up at 9am, had some breakfast before getting the kiddos up, and watched about 20 minutes of Home Town. I freaking love HGTV! It’s in my blood. My father and grandfather were interior designers and owned a family business. I grew up in it.

Breakfast: Sourdough bread (from Target bakery) with avocado, sea salt and pepper. Coffee with loads of sugar and cream.

Around 10am, I got the kids up and ready and got myself showered and ready for the day. The boys played video games while I did my 11am session. At 12pm, we ate brown sugar oatmeal and chocolate chip muffins (my second breakfast lol).

I also had a 1pm session and a 4pm session, so the day was a bit scattered. We ran out and got Starbucks and cake pops for a snack in-between sessions. And for lunch, we had dino nuggets, Sun Chips, and strawberries.

In-between sessions, I did mom-life stuff—cleaned, did some laundry, and responded to a million emails… I definitely got behind on those during the holiday! After my husband got home from work, it was girls night out. I met my business partner and bestie for dinner. We ended up going to Cava—everyone under the sun has been telling me about it, so we figured I should finally give it a go.

Cava bowl - it’s not so pretty because they put the toppings under the chicken. They ran out of chicken so we had to wait for that… honestly, it took forever!

After Cava, we exchanged Christmas gifts—so much fun! And watched 3 episodes of Outer Banks. We still hadn’t watched the new season, so it’s about time! Freaking love that cheesy show. Got home around midnight. The boys were in bed but still waiting for mommy to come home and give them kisses goodnight <3
